Blooming brightly with the sun’s ray
Red as blood, fully maturing
Stemming with a thorn
A single thorn

Piercing through the flesh
Dye of red on the stem
Red of blood, the colour it blooms
Hurts more than ever
Than those with many
Needle sharp thorns
